Before the performance...

The film blends imagination with reality.  Characters merge with every day people. We are no longer able to separate fact from fiction. Sometimes it happens the other way around. The accidental scene, the certain mood of an evening or the part of a famous film, seen once more, that can surprisingly show our peers in a different way. Repeating the roles allows me to confront my close friends, perhaps it can open unknown parts of their personality, redefine our relationship.

For the latest project I invited Monika and asked her to play the scene of Nadine's suicide - from the series Twin Peaks - before a video camera and an audience. I observe her behaviour and the medium of performance. I am interested in a space that opens up between successive repetitions. The original material is a matrix that I use to reflect her image, distorted by years of living together, studies and cooperation.

Performance took place in public space opposite the police station. I started by doing few rescue motions, then I took off my t-shirt. I had a tatoo on my back saying "The prise of freedom is death". It was the same tatoo as my brother who was in prison has.

I used safety instruction which flight attendants perform. Action consists of many sequences in which I'm changing the scheme that stewardesses normally use. I finish by puffing up the rescue vest.
